Paperwork

Lately it seems that all our (read: mine) preparations are geared towards paperwork, waiting for the paperwork to be processed, and doing more paperwork (repeat cycle until Visa arrives).

While I am doing everything I can to quicken the process, I am already starting to feel it in my gut that I will be cutting it close. As long as the Visa comes before August, I think I will be OK.

Fortunately, only I have to go through this fun process. Jace's program will be helping him out once he gets there and finishes the training.

We bought a Czech phrase book to brush up on our language skills.

In the meantime, here is a pretty Prague picture (taken when Dad visited me last time):Photobucket

It's Official

The obstacles involving the when are now out of the way, and we have purchased our one-way plane tickets to go to Prague!

Our flight leaves DFW on the evening on August 19th, and we will arrive in the CZ on the evening of August 20th.

My job teaching English at the preschool will begin on August 25th, and Jace's program begins September 4th.

Now the issue involves housing. We are not too worried about it as there are a handful of websites offering furnished apartments for rent. Some of you have asked about the length of leases, and that I still do not know. Online you can search for apartments to stay in as short as one night and as long as one year. I think we are leaning towards renting one for a month and using that time to decide if there are better options (that you can't find online) or if that is where we want to stay.

All of this is very exciting! Jace bought me a new travel book in celebration, and a woman I met at school let me borrow a book called Pink Tanks and Velvet Hangovers. It's a memoir about an American's life in Prague (he started out teaching English no less) So far so good, I like it because I can recognize a lot of the things he has talked about so far.

We've already started to get things ready, we bought adapters for our plugs last night!
